Day 1: Arrival in Fez–Cultural city tour
Reception at Fez airport and transfer to the accommodation riad.
Accompanied by a local guide, we will discover the essence of Fez, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities. We will visit the Royal Palace, a traditional pottery workshop, and Borj Nord, offering one of the best panoramic views of the city.
We will continue to the Fez Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its craftsmanship, considered the finest in the country. Visits include a traditional tannery, the 14th-century Madrasa Attarine, the iconic Bab Boujloud gate, and the Jewish quarter (Mellah).
In the evening, return to the riad.
Dinner and overnight stay at Riad Fez.
Day 2: Fez–Ifrane–Azrou–Ziz Valley–Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)
After breakfast, depart for the Erg Chebbi Desert.
We will cross the Middle Atlas, passing through Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco” for its architecture and natural surroundings. The cedar forests and regional vegetation offer stunning landscapes.
We continue to Azrou, famous for its craftsmanship and Berber atmosphere. There will be scenic stops and free time for lunch, then we pass through Errachidia and Erfoud.
Stop at the impressive Ziz Valley, home to the largest palm grove in Morocco, stretching along the Ziz River between canyons and traditional villages.
Arrival in the late afternoon/evening in Merzouga, in the heart of the Erg Chebbi Desert.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Merzouga.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi Desert–Berber village adventure and desert camp
After breakfast, we will begin a 4×4 excursion through the Merzouga Desert. We will visit the Merzouga oasis, walking among the ancient plots of the first nomads who founded the villages of Merzouga and Hassilabied.
We will meet Berber nomad families, sharing tea under authentic haimas and learning about their culture, traditions, history, and way of life in this landscape of dunes and small mountains.
At midday, we will arrive at the village of Khamlia, located 7 km from Merzouga, known for its Gnawa population of Sub-Saharan origin. We will enjoy a live performance of their traditional music and dance.
Typical lunch with Berber pizza, followed by return to the hotel to rest.
In the afternoon, the camel excursion begins through the Erg Chebbi dunes, guided by an experienced nomad. We will climb the big dune to watch an unforgettable sunset before venturing into the heart of the desert.
Dinner and overnight stay in a luxury camp, under a unique starry sky.
Day 4: Desert–Paris-Dakar Track–Rissani
We will wake up early to enjoy a sunrise in the Sahara Desert from the Great Dune, the highest in Morocco.
After breakfast, we return to the hotel and continue our route through different desert landscapes, traveling along sections of the legendary Paris-Dakar track. We will walk through ancient Berber ksour (fortified villages) and visit the Tafilalt palm grove.
Arrival in Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalt. We will enjoy a cultural visit to a Berber family, sharing a traditional meal.
In the afternoon, return to the hotel.
(Optional: quad biking activity in the dunes, not included).
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Merzouga.
Day 5: Desert–Errachidia–Midelt–Fez
After breakfast, depart for the return journey to Fez. Along the way, we will pass through the villages of Ouawfous, Errachidia, and Midelt, enjoying changing landscapes of oases, mountains, and valleys of the Middle Atlas.
Arrival in Fez in the late afternoon/evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at a riad in Fez.
Day 6: Fez–Airport
